Maybelline Colour Tattoo: Tough as Taupe

I know that this product has been around for a while, and I am pretty sure that most of you have heard of them. One thing i have noticed however, when reading blogs and watching gurus on youtube, is that the colour, bad to the bronze has been sung it's praises, everyone has raved about it. I do like bad to the bronze, especially against blue eyes. However, a colour that i feel has not been really talked about a lot is Tough as Taupe.

Right: Bad to the Bronze
Left: Tough as Taupe
I want to make it clear, that i am not saying that i like one of these colours more then the other, I thought i would talk about Tough as Taupe, because i feel that it should have more recognition.

The colour reminds me of an oyster with an purple/mauve undertone to it. I think adding a cream colour eyeshadow compliments it a lot (a purple eyshadow would look good to), and i think just like Bad to the bronze, it also compliments blue eyes well. I enjoy wearing this colour, as it is in the natural colour family, but for me it has a little edge to it, which is nice.

The danger with cream eye shadow is that they can dry up. I find if you make sure you store them  with the lid facing down they do not dry up so quickly.

If you have not tried these colour tattoos then let me tell you that the consistency is very smooth, and  you get 4 grams worth of product. I find these products to be a life saver when time in the morning is running out with alarming speed,as they are very easy just to slap on and walk out the door. I am unsure though if these products really last 24hours, as i have never had them on for that long!

Sally Hansen Nail Polish

I don't know about you, but i have always loved the look of blue nail polish. A few weeks ago i came across this polish from Sally Hansen called Pacific Blue.

I realised that i don't actually own a blue nail polish, so when i saw this colour i fell in love!

I personally like the shape of the lid, as because it curves slightly it makes for easy handling. I know this may sound like nit-picking, but i do not like how the bar code is really visible on the bottle, but hey, it is the colour that counts right?

I find that this brand of nail polish is good quality, the texture is smooth, no clumps of any kind, and the pigmentation is consistent, and this colour is so vibrant, and definitely reminds me of the ocean. The brush is a good size, smaller then the size of an O.P.I brush though.

I cannot tell you whether this colour chips easily or not, but from past experience with this brand, i have had no chips within the first two weeks, but then in saying this i must tell you that nail polish chipping never seems to be an issue for me, whether that is just good luck or something to do with my nails, i am not sure!

This colour brightens my mood every time i see it as it reminds me of a sunny cloudless day! And if you are looking for a blue nail colour, i would definatley recommend checking this one out!

My Experiance with Rouge Volupte

YSL Rouge Volupte Lipsticks...

A few months back i got he opportunity to purchase two YSL lipsticks, which, for me was a big deal, as usually i would never get something this pricey.

YSL describes these lipsticks as long lasting, intensely pigmented, and leaves lips feeling smoother, plumper and radiant. I have to admit that the pigmentation of these lipsticks is wonderful, true to both the colour on the packaging and when it's on the lips. However, i feel that is does not plump or leave my lips feeling smoother, in fact, a few times once i have applied this lipstick i have felt a grainy texture on my lips.
The packaging, I'm sure you would agree is beautiful and elegant, the gold cylinder reflects the light in a gorgeous way, with the YSL logo and colour of the lipstick beautifully placed in the centre. It makes me feel like a grown-up to own a lipstick like this!
The photo of this lipstick to the right is my favourite out of the two, it is a beautiful
chocolate brown colour, called Vibrant Brown, the swatch below i think is a tiny bit darker then
what the lipstick truly is. I think this colour would be a good winter color, although, where i am right
now it is defiantly summer, i still Love wearing it, and gives my overall look an earthy tone, rather then a dark or vampy feel. I feel this would look great on more pale skin tones, only because of the contrast it would create, but would look beautiful on all skin tones regardless.

The second lipstick to the left is called, Tender Peach. It has a strong orange undertone (compared to a red) that comes through, a feel like this colour is a darker peach mixed with orange, so that in some lights it looks like an orange lipstick. I do love this colour, however, i am disappointed because it really does not suit me, because of my complexion, i feel that it makes me look too orange!

The swatch below is true to the actual colour, and would be great for spring time.

When wearing these lipsticks, keep in mind that they are very strong and vibrant colours, so make sure you feel comfortable wearing a strong lip colour, as they do cost a lot, well alot to me anyway! Wearing time is around approximately two hours before i would have to reapply, and they do not last drinking a coffee etc. Overall, i do love these lipsticks, they do have SPF 15 which is nice, and the pigmentation and packaging, to me, are one of the best out there!
